The leadership of the G-77 is vital to ensure that concrete steps be taken in Rio, “Ban said, referring to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development at Rio +20.

He added that it is time to make a final effort to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, which rise the halving of extreme poverty and hunger by 2015, and expressed their commitment to continue working with the G-77 for this purpose.
